High Quality Beef You Can Feel Good About
-
No. The listed price covers your live cattle share. Processing is an additional cost paid directly to Bluebonnet Meat Company.
Your processing fee covers harvesting, cutting, and packaging your beef according to your preferences. The final cost depends on the animal's hanging weight and the cuts or specialty options you select.
This allows you to customize your beef and pay the butcher directly for exactly how you want it processed.

Processing is an additional cost paid directly to Bluebonnet Meat Company. While the final amount depends on your animal's hanging weight and your cut selections, here's what you can expect:
Quarter Beef: Approximately $250–$300
Half Beef: Approximately $450–$550
Whole Beef: Approximately $925–$1,100
These estimates include standard processing and your portion of the harvesting fee. Specialty options, such as sausage, hamburger patties, and other custom cuts, may cost extra.
Your exact total will be determined by the butcher once your animal has been processed.
-
The amount of beef you receive depends on the size of your animal and the cuts you choose. Here's what you can typically expect:
¼ Beef: Approximately 100–125 lbs
½ Beef: Approximately 200–250 lbs
Whole Beef: Approximately 400–500 lbs
Your order will include a variety of cuts, such as steaks, roasts, ground beef, and more, customized to your preferences through your cut sheet.
Keep in mind that an animal's live weight is different from its hanging weight, and some weight is lost during aging and processing. These are estimated take-home weights, not guaranteed amounts.
-
Yes! We highly recommend having a dedicated chest or upright freezer to store your beef. Even a quarter share is a substantial amount of meat, and most standard refrigerator freezers won't have enough room.
Here's approximately how much freezer space you'll need:
¼ Beef: 4–5 cubic feet
½ Beef: 8 cubic feet
Whole Beef: 16 cubic feet
A properly maintained freezer keeps your beef fresh and ready to enjoy for months. For the best flavor and quality, we recommend enjoying your beef within 12 months.
Don't have a deep freezer yet? Make sure to purchase one before your beef is ready for pickup!
-
When properly packaged and stored in a deep freezer at 0°F or below, your beef can last a long time!
For the best flavor, tenderness, and quality, we recommend enjoying your beef within 12 months. Properly frozen beef can remain safe beyond that, although its quality may gradually decline.
Buying in bulk means fewer trips to the grocery store and a freezer stocked with farm-raised beef your family can enjoy for months to come!
-
Absolutely! One of the biggest benefits of purchasing beef directly from our farm is being able to customize your order to fit your family's needs.
You'll receive a cut sheet from Bluebonnet Meat Company, where you can select your preferred steaks, roasts, ground beef, packaging sizes, and more.
Keep in mind that certain cuts share the same portion of the animal, so not every combination is possible. Quarter shares may also have some limitations.
Never filled out a cut sheet before? Don't worry! We'll provide instructions, and the butcher can help guide you through your options.

Much of the beef sold in grocery stores passes through multiple stages of production and distribution, making it difficult to trace your individual purchase back to a specific farm.
At Honey B's Farm, there's no guessing. Our cattle are locally raised, grass-fed and grain-finished. You know where your beef comes from, how it was raised, and who raised it.
Plus, you get to fill your freezer with quality beef, customized to your family's needs, without constantly worrying about changing grocery store prices.
